Cartoon: congressman offers free healthcare to woman's fetus

What democrats don't get about fetal rights

By Jeffrey Baumgartner

Lord love a duck, the election season is staring and already the Republicans are already competing who can go furthest to outlaw abortion and ideally strip woman of the rights to their own bodies. It's a nasty business born of ignorance and men's inner most suspicions that women are superior to them so they've got to repress them. Nevertheless, there is a tremendous opportunity for the democrats to exploit this situation and get republican backing on such socialist-communist-nazi-homosexual concepts as free healthcare, mental healthcare, social benefits and more. Let me explain.

Democrats like to say that Republicans care about people until they are born, afterwards they can go to hell especially if they are not white, male Republicans. This is true. However, one problem that they have had is that in law, a fetus is not yet human. So, a Republican tactic has been to change that law and grant humanness to the pre-born.

Democrats groan in frustration when they should sniff an opportunity. As Republicans so adore pre-born humans, the democrats should play the same game and campaign to give rights to the pre-born − or better yet, drop hints to encourage the Republicans to do this themselves.

For example, since a pre-born human hostess (aka the pregnant woman) who sinfully wants to abort a pre-born human simply because a 'science-based' ultrasound examination has revealed severe health problems that would make its eventual life short and miserable, might not be able or willing to provide the necessary health care to the pre-human, health care should be mandatory for both the pre-born human and its hostess. And to avoid unnecessary government complexity, it should be a single-payer, government funded and cost-controlled health care.

Republican libertarians would doubtless be jumping over themselves to further legislate control over women as well as strengthen the case that pre-born humans deserve the best in affordable care. Once the legislation is in place, it is a simple matter to extend it to post-born humans. Better still, loose wording in the original legislation could ensure that the health care extends to post-borns.

The same thing could be done with things like foodstamps, forcing hostesses to eat sufficiently to provide to their pre-borns, welfare and other benefits that Republicans are loathe to offer to post-born humans.

Then, if Democrats are really tricky, the could enact legislation that gives pre-born humans, the right to assisted dying with dignity, or euthanasia. This should be granted in cases of serious health issues, threat to the hostess's health and sin. Yeah, that last one is religious, of course, but we all know the Republicans desperately want to put God in government; so it won't be an issue.

Of course, pre-borns are below the age of majority, so a legal guardian would need to reaquest the right to assisted dying and to sign off for it. This legal guardian would, of necessity, be the hostess. So, she would have to present evidence that the pre-born's health was such that it would not have a viable life as a post-born; or she would have to say that the pregnancy was the result of sin and God told he to end the pre-born's life.

Once this is done, America will have sensible, healthcare, social welfare and abortion laws that put it on par with most other developed countries.

So, share this article with all of your democrat friends, but not your Republican ones. You don't want to let them on to what you are doing!
